HARVEY SCHMIDT

Over the years, Harvey had to go to Japan several times when his musicals were produced there. On one trip he discovered by chance a Tokyo bookstore (run by an Italian) and a small book with black-and-white illustrations of a couple demonstrating ballroom dance steps… while smoking!  From this idea Harvey later drew a series in color with elegance and charm.
